- I've spent a number of years as an owner of businesses producing custom products. These have included design, printing, and now the production of furniture and millwork. In my experience, high-quality service is much more valuable than a brief period of "rock-bottom" pricing. I am pleased to report that my recent experience with the Sawmill Exchange was positive in all respects, and outstanding in the area of service. When I required a small mill to furnish wood for a niche in my business, I spent several months settling on a product. I was aware of www.sawmillexchange.com through my web searches, and checked to see if the equipment was available on their list. Two mills attracted my interest, and Brian of The Sawmill Exchange graciously and efficiently provided contact information and other particulars. My first choice of mills was already under deposit, but the owner and I had a pleasant and productive conversation. My second call found a low-time mill with all the features I required. After a few conversations, and examination and demonstration, the owner and I struck a deal. I may have saved a little additional money by looking for a private sale with a large additional investment in time. The mill's former owner might have saved a few dollars in commission by trying to find a buyer through local channels. As it was, the sale went through smoothly, with no hassles.
